We are a go for episode 1!
If you’re new here, welcome to Something Shakespeare This Way Comes, a podcast by a huge nerd. I think we are going to have fun.
In this episode, you’ll hear a little bit about why I’m launching this project in the place.
In the future, though, you can expect roughly four types of episodes:
- Interpretations and discussions of the plays and sonnets as a whole.
- Close reads into plays and sonnets, including deep dives into scenes, soliliquys and more.
- Discussions of Shakespeare adaptations going across the many, many movies and books available.
- A closer look at Elizabeth history, Shakespeare biography, and how we can ground the man in his own time.
I picked Sonnet 113 as a random example in this episode and now, having reviewed it, I’m not convinced I’ve ever read it before. So that’ll be fun to talk about eventually!
